The Internship: and beyond
These past several months I have had the privilege of interning at Flathead Beacon Productions. Thus far my internship has been both a rewarding and positive experience. My name is Max Valerious, and I began my internship in August, 2016. Since then I have gotten to know some very talented people and work on different projects. One of my favorite parts about the internship has been getting to further explore past interests.
Prior to the Beacon, I had very little background knowledge in computer programming and website design. Since then, I have had the opportunity to see how even some very complex websites are built. I am grateful for the basic understanding and platform to learn website design. Not only have I gained some insight into the web-world but I have also gained valuable research and time management skills that will help me with just about any job I take on in the future.
In addition to my internship at the Beacon, I am also working at Bonelli’s Italian Bistro and attending classes at Flathead Valley Community College (FVCC). In the future, I plan on pursuing a career in business so I have chosen to take on a busy schedule of nine credits to get a leg up on my education. So far my experience at FVCC has been nothing but pleasant. All of my professors are more than willing to help me one-on-one if I run into any problems or questions outside of class.
This December, I will be transitioning from the Beacon, FVCC and Bonelli’s to Marquette University. Marquette is a private university in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I plan on continuing to pursue my passions for business and writing throughout my time at school. I have enjoyed my time here at Flathead Beacon Productions and look forward to my next couple of months.
